MR. JOHN COURT’S GIFT encouraging agriculture UNIVERSITY’S ACCEPTANCE A gift of £I,OOO to institute an agricultural scholarship has been made to the Auckland University College by Mr. John Court. It was accepted at a meeting of the University Council yesterday afternoon. In moving that the gift be accepted with thanks, the chairman, the Hon. George Fowlds, stated that the donor had always taken a keen interest in agricultural matters, and this splendid gift, which was to form the ‘John Court Agricultural Scholarship.” was to come to them for an Auckland boy, It would be available for all students —there being no age limit—and would be held for four years. As there were certain formal matters to arrange it was decided to submit a scheme to Mr. Court for approval.
