CATHOLIC SCHOOLS SOCCER TOURNEY

The Catholic Primary Schools’ Association held its annual tournament yesterday afternoon, when the championship finals of the three grades were played. The senior grade championship was won by East Suburbs, a team of boys from the united parishes of Mount Albert, Good Shepherd and Remuera. The junior grade A championship was won by Takapuna, the team being composed of boys from the Takapuna Boys’ Orphanage. The Grey Lynn junior B team won the championship of the junior grade B. All the games were evenly contested and the tournament provided a fitting conclusion to a successful, season. Results are as follows: Senior Grade.—Championship Final: East Suburbs, 2, beat St. Benedict’s, 1. Ordinary games: St. Patrick’s, 1, beat Grey Lynn A, 0; Sacred Heart A, 0, drew with Onehunga, 0: Grey Lynn B, 1, drew with Sacred Heart B, I. Junior Grade A.—Final: Takapuna, 1, drew with Sacred Heart A, 1. Takapuna wins the championship by 2 points. Ordinary games: Remuera, 2, beat St. Benedict’s Covent, 0; Good Shepherd, 1, beat Onehunga, 0; St. Benedict’s A, 1, drew with Grey Lynn A, 1. Junior Grade B.—Championship Final: Grey Lynn B, 1, beat Sacred Heart B, 0. | Ordinary game: Sacred Heart C, 2, drew with Grey Lynn C, 2.
