HOME AGAIN

STOWAWAY’S RETURN NO LUCK IN SYDNEY A MONTH in Sydney was enough to convince Donald Austin Moon that Auckland was a more desirable town for him, so he sailed as an unofficial passenger on the Marama. Moon pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of stowing away on the ship. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that accused was a native of New Zealand who had gone over to Sydney, where his mother lived. He stayed there a month, and being unable to get work, decided to return to Auckland. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, in fining Moon £. 7, the amount of the fare, said that stowing away had to be discouraged. The default was fixed at 14 days’ imprisonment.
