ANOTHER MILL CLOSED
The arrival in Papatoetoe yesterday of two bush haulers and a number of timber trucks, signified the closing down of another of the timber-pro-ducing bushes\in the Auckland district. These had been railed from the Kauri Timber Company’s bush at Rakautau, about four miles south of Kaitaia, from where the logs were railed to Moerewa. to be cut up into saleable timber. When working at capacity this mill was cutting 600.000 feet of timber per month, employing over 150 men. The haulers and trucks are nowstowed in the K.T.C. yards at Papatoetoe.
