BEGGARS IN COURT

WELLINGTON OCCURRENCES WELLINGTON, To-day. Begging for food in the street, and finally creeping into the backyard of a business house to sleep, Thomas Murphy, aged 27, appeared before Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning to answer a charge of being idie and disorderly. He was told to find work at once, under penalty of com ing up for sentence when called upon within 12 months. This is almost a daily occurance, out-of-work people appearing before the court and being dismissed with the command to find work at once. The finding of work is still difficult here, however, and the Court lists continue to be heavy.
