Made the First Bicycle.—The death naa occurred of Mr. Joseph Harris, who made the first bicycle in 1867. Mr. Harris also invented the Braille frame. Hia age was 86.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
Rural Mail.—The people of Taupaki are to have a rural mail delivery. The Taupaki Ratepayers’ and Progressive Association has received information to this effect from the Postmaster-Gen-eral, the Hon. W. Nosworthy.
Sydney Motorists Killed. —A motorcar and a tram collided on the Paramatta Road. Two men in the motorcar, John Costello and William McFadaen, were killed. Five other people were injured.—A. and N.Z.
Spies Arrested in Poland.—The police arrested at Lemberg, in Poland, 40 per*ss* w ho were allegedly connected an espionage organisation which was working on behalf of the Soviet. . 0 persons who were arrested include several soldiers.—A. and N.Z.
