BANKRUPT OFFICE FITTER
SMALL AMOUNT OWING Adverse court judgments and unemployment were given as the reasons for the bankruptcy of Neil Johan Clausen, an office fitter, who met his creditors this morning in the office of the official assignee, Mr. G. N. Morris. A sum of £45 was shown owing to unsecured creditors. There were no assets. Bankrupt supplied a written statement in which he stated that at the present time he was earning £7 10s a week, out of which he had to keep his wife and child. In addition he had to maintain his aged mother-in-law, to whom lie paid an average of 30s a week. All things being considered he could not afford to pay more than 5s a week off his debts, but he intended to pay off more if he could in the future. “I should like to have some facts with regard to the way your wage goes each week,” said Mr. Morris. Clausen promised to furnish a statement of his weekly expenditure in the future in order to determine whether or not he could afford at least 10s a week for the liquidation of his debts.
