CARELESS MOTORISTS
FACING CARS UP-HILL REDUCING THEFT CHANCES "If motor-car owners would leave their cars facing uphill, instead of down, it would reduce the chance of cars being stolen by 80 per cent.” This statement was made to-day by a well-known Auckland official. "Motor-cars are invariably left facing downhill,” he said, “and in many cases they are not locked. Consequently the thief .or thieves simply release the brakes and the car glides off quietly downhill.”
