FALL FROM WHARF
MISHAP AT LYTTELTON Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. To-day. As the intercolonial steamer Manuka leaving Lyttelton on Saturday night a sensation was caused when a woman, who was waving good-bye to friends from the wharf, fell over into the water. But for the smart action of the master of the steamer in stopping the propeller, a tragedy might have occurred. The woman was rescued by her husband and a seaman.
