COMPETITIONS
A BOOK prize will be awarded for the best essay on any of the following subjects: “Travel.” “The Sea,” or “If 1 Had a Pound to Spend,” the entries to be written on only one side of the paper and not to exceed 300 v/ords. 2. —A bock prize will be awarded for the best original poem not exceeding 20 lines. 3. —A book prize will be awarded for the best original drawing of an animal (any subject), the work to be finished in Indian ink. Conditions: Open to children of 15 and under, the entries to be endorsed “Original,” and to reach the Dawn Lady, Happy Town, SUN Office, Auckland, not later than August 20.
