AT HUNTLY A successful social '--evening was held in the Huntly Town Hall on Thursday at which the Art Union promoted for the purpose of assisting the child, Henry Dobbs, who in a railway accident lost a leg and an arm. was drawn. The prize winners were as follow: Mr. E. King, Glen Afton, 1; Mrs. J. Watson, Westmere, Huntly, 2; Waterside Workers’ Union, Auckland, 3; Hotel Workers' Union, Christchurch, 4; Mr. Coxhead, Criterion Hotel, Auckland, F/ In the guessing competition the cake cake donated by Mrs. Koller of Rotorua was won by Miss Isa Douglas, the box of chocolates presented by Mr. F. Knapper went to Mrs. Logan, and a fancy kit given, by Mrs. Green of Pukemiro was won by Mrs. Morgan. The winners at euchre were Mrs. Satterthwaite Mrs. Hobbs, Mr. D. Luke and Mr. J. Walker. The secretary Mr. F. Harris has now in hand the satisfactory sum of £532 13s 9d, and with the moneys still outstanding it is anticipated that the fund will eventually be £6OO. Mr. W. C. E. George, the chairman, thanked ail those who had helped to make the undertaking such a sucetus, expressing particular appreciation of au{i[suns sin jo soipiq ox\i jo eqi League.
