STRAND

SECOND BON BON SHOW In response to popular demand the Bon Bon Revue Company will present their second mammoth show entitled "Helter Skelter,” at the Strand today, both at the matinee and evening performances. This bright and Dreezy company has already won a place in Aucklanders’ hearts. They are such a cheery, merry crowd and dispense laughter so lavishly that they deserve to be popular. Robert Roberts, the celebrated London producer-comedian, personally directs the show and appears in various sketches, songs and

dances. He is a brilliant and versatile actor, and whenever he appears on the stage the audience can be assured of excellent entertainment. The new programme is even better than last week’s. Every item is new and thoie is not a dull moment throughout. Molly Hughes and George Edwards appear in some good sketches, -while June Mills gives her usual large dose of fun. Arline Paterson is dainty and delightful always, and she has good scope in the new programme. Wylie Watson, Nick Morton, William Innes, Maurice Jaffey, May Webster and Will Gilbert provide their share of merry entertainment. No one should miss this second programme with its attractive scenic effects and gorgeous dressing. On the screen H. G. Wells’s great story, "Marriage,” will be shown. Virginia Valli and Allan Durant, a sterling young German actor, head a great cast which appears in "Marriage,” a mighty drama of matrimonial mysteries. This film is Fox Films version of H. G. Wells’s widely discussed novel, “Marriage.” R. William Neill, director of the production, deserves much credit for his skilful handling of the theme. The story concerns the marriage of an idealistic young man to a young lady of materialistic tendencies. The clash of their temperaments, in spite of the fact that they are madly in love with one another, forms the basis of a compelling theme. In support of Miss Valli and Durant are such favourites as Lawford Davidson, Gladys McConnell and Janies Marcus. Gertrude Orr prepared the scenario.
