DOMINIONS REBUKED
RECEPTION OF MIGRANTS WARMER WELCOME POSSIBLE By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. At a. meeting of the Migration Agents’ Association, the president, Mr. Frame, said: “Both, passenger agents and the migration authorities should tell the plain truth regarding the opportunities in the Dominions.” The agents were often wrongly blamed, said Mr. Frame, but they found a difficulty in providing inquirers with accurate information, owing to contradictory statements. Mr. Frame said he deplored the fact that the British unemployed did not seek outlets in the Dominions. Perhaps this was largely because they were assured of the dole or other form of relief. If the methods of migration were faulty, Mr. Frame said, he thought the entire fault was not on the British side. For example, a heartier welcome might be extended to the migrants in their new homes. —A. and N.Z.
