Triggs, M.L.C., and Miss Triggs, of Huapai, are staying at the Hotel Stonehurst. The Rev. G. M. Searcy, precentor of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney, is on a tour of New Zealand. He is at present in Auckland. Messrs. R. G. Summers, W. Bryden and J. B. Nanson have been nominated by the* Canterbury College for Rhodes Scholarships this year. Mr. J. S. Phillips’s appointment for the fisheries research fellowship has now been approved bv the council of Victoria College, Wellington.—Press Association. The. Hon. George Fowlds left by train last evening to attend a council meeting of the Massey Agricultural College at Palmerston North. He is expected to return to-morrow. Constable D. Ryan, of Mount Eden South, is being transferred to Wellsford; Constable 13. Smith, of Henderson, is being transferred to Mount Eden South: and Constable C. Rushton, of Wellsford, will replace Constable Smith. The Hon. A. 13. McLeod, Minister of Lands, who entered a private hospital in Wellington on Friday for treatment and observation in connection with eye trouble, is reported to be making good progress toward recovery. He is not expected to resume his duties for about another ten days.
