TAKEN BY STORM
SURRENDER OF J.C.L. HOSTS OF BARGAIN-HUNTERS Having planned the attack overnight, the besiegers surrounded the gates at an early hour this morning. Zero hour was 9 a.m. As it approached the defenders,„ overcome by the size and determination of the attacking body, flung wide the portals and made unconditional surrender. All day long the noise of bargaining rose from the long gay counters, where the costly wares of John Court, Ltd., lay bare to the hands of the marauding hosts. They crowded in all morning, late-comers anxious and fearing that the best had been “picked over,” until they found the joy of a bargain. For 15 days the firm will sacrifice its stock at bargain prices in the colossal sale which began this morning.
