NEW T.B. SHELTERS

“SHOULD BE REMOVED” B.M.A. CRITICISES SITE TT is not likely that criticism by the British Medical Association of the proposed site for the T.B. shelters in the Auckland Domain will affect the decision of the committee, provided that the City Council at its next meeting confirms the recent decision of the Parks Committee. This committee has recommended that the site should be handed over to the men. “The men are not going there for treatment,” said Mr. William Wallace, when a statement by Dr. E. B. Gunson was referred to him. “They have been brought to Auckland to be near their people.” Some of these men, he explained, had been there for five and six years. The viewpoint of the B.M.A. is: "We do not consider that the Domain is a suitable sile for the treatment of tubercular patients. We consider that they could be in better surroundings from a health point of vic-w if the shelters were removed from the Domain.”
