CLIMBER DASHED TO DEATH AN IMPRUDENT ASCENT By Cable.-—Press Association.—Copyright GENEVA, Monday. The famous Matterhorn was the scene of a tragedy which has astonished experienced Alpine climbers. Three chimney sweeps Irom Munich, inexperienced, ordinarily clad and carrying umbrellas, attempted the ascent without guides or ropes. The leader of the party fell 2,400 ft and was killed.
