TARANAKI BENEFITS MR. NEWTON KING’S BEQUEST Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. Under the will of the late Mr. Newton King £IO,OOO has been bequeathed to three parks in New Plymouth and the North Egmont Mountain Hostelry Committee. Pukekura Park, the beautiful grounds in the heart of the borough, receives £3,000, the amount to be invested and the income devoted to maintenance and improvements. The committee of Kawaroa Park, the seaside park at the west end of the town, receives £2,000, and the East End Bathing Reserve, where a comprehensive scheme of improvements is being carried out. £2,000. To the other beneficiary, the North Egmont Hostelry Committee, £3,000 is bequeathed. The hostelry, which is the principal tourist resort on Mount Egmont, was erected with the assistance of leading business men of New Plymouth, including Mr. Newton King.
