SIX MONTHS FOR ASSAULTING WIFE
HUSBAND’S BRUTALITY Press Association. DUNEDIN. To-day. At the Dunedin Police Court this morning John Edward Hynes, aged 33, was sentenced to six months’ gaol for assaulting his wife. It was stated that the wife, who is in hospital, and was unable to appear, had a broken nose, badly-blackened eyes, and injuries to her body, where- she had been kicked. The accused had previously served three months for a similar offence.
