MANUREWA DUMP
PROTEST FROM TAKANINI One of the largest and most enthusiastic meetings yet held in Takanini took place on Monday night in the Public Hall, when a protest was entered against the decision of the Manurewa Town Board to establish a cemetery and sanitary dump in the Takanini district. Practically every household in the district was represented, and Mr. F. M. Waters, chairman, Mr. McAllum, member, and Mr. Page, engineer, of the Manukau County Council were present. Mr. Waters dealt fully with the subject and promised the meeting that they would have the full support of the county council in their protest. It was unanimously decided that a very strong protest be forwarded to the Minister of Health, Auckland Health Department, and the Government, objecting to the intended arrangements.
