SPEEDERS DEALT WITH The weekly batch of by-law breaches was dealt with by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Traffic Court this morning. For driving at 40 miles an hour along Manukau Road, John E. Powell was fined £5 and costs. Miss Molly L. Robertson, at the wheel of a new and powerful car, apparently. failed to realise its capabilities. Her 47 i miles an hour along Great North Road proved an expensive thrill at £ 5 and costs. Dacre Seymour left the court £ 4 poorer for doing 39 miles, while A. E. Owenden and F. W. G. Postlewaiglit were fined £ 2 and £ 3 respectively, also for excessive speed. Eight motorists were fined 10s and costs for leaving their cars unattended. Reginald Jull failed to obey a traffic officer; the mistake cost him 10s and costs. Douglas Stewart travelled 10 miles an hour too fast across Grafton Bridge—£l 10s and costs. C. H. Hall stopped his car in a zone area, for which privilege he was ordered to pay 10s and costs. Albert Ramm was convicted and fined £1 with witness’s expenses for negligently driving his car and colliding with Miss Jean Macindoe’s Baby Austin in Remuera Road on May 5.
