BEAU CAVALIER'S WINNINGS

Starting off just 12 months ago with the Pakuranga Hunt Cup, Beau Cavalier has in this period won six races over country. A little over three months ago the Chesterfield gelding scored a double at the Waikato meeting. Then in order followed the Great Northern Steeplechase, Wellington Steeplechase and the Grand National Steeplechase, and thus emulated the sequence of victories registered *by Coalition six years ago. The half-dozen wins and one second obtained in 12 months by Beau Cavalier amounts to £4,270. For a horse purchased for a meagre 55 guineas it is a great return within such a short period.
