RENOWN CO.’S POSITION IS QUITE CLEAR
A TRAMWAY CONTRACT “The company’s position is quite in order. It has paid the contractors 5 more than the amount they are entitled to for the wages payments.” This statement was made on behalf of the Renown Collieries, Ltd., this morning in reference to the position in which about 60 men at Rotowaro have found themselves as a result of nonpayment by the contractors who have been laying a tramline, and making tunnels to connect Rotowaro station and the Renown Colliery, about miles awav.
