WIRELESS REGULATIONS

TOO MANY IN N.Z. SYDNEY MAN’S OPINION “There are too many wireless regulations in New Zealand. They should all be thrown overboard.” That is the opinion of Mr. L. Hopkins. of Sydney, who is interested in the radio business. He arrived in Auckland this morning by the Ulimaroa. Regulations have been tried abroad, he says, but they have never proved any use and have only hampered the people who use radio sets. In Sydney there was originally some trouble with screaming valves, but people experimented until they obtained sets which were more suitable for their requirements. All that is necessary, said Mr. Hopkins, is for the users of radio sets to pay a licence. The ultimate success of their listening-in rests with themselves.
