BRITANNIA

“SOMEWHERE IN SONORA’' Ken Maynard scores again in the latest First National production, “Somewhere in Sonora,” now at the Britannia Theatre. The Western star astonishes with his ability to do the most sensational and daring riding stunts ever seen on the screen. Maynard is seen as Bob Bishop, a famous rider who explores various sections of Arizona and Mexico for Bart Leadley, played by Joe Bennett, the runaway son of Bishop’s benefactor. Mary Burton (Kathleen Collins), the daughter of a silver-mine owner, takes a dislike to Bishop at the outset of the tale. Her love for him grows with the picture. Ben Corbett as “Kettle Belly” Simpson and Monte Montague give effective comedy relief as Bishop’s pals. Charles Hills Mailes, Carl Stockdale, Richard Neill and Yvonne Howell lend fine support in excellent characterisations.
