TENDERS ACCEPTED

POWER BOARD MEETS Tenders for switchgear for the Otahuhu railway workshops were accepted at yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Electric-Power Board. The lowest tenders, that of the National Electric Co. of £1,340 and spares £6 19s, for section A, and that of the Metropolitan Vickers Co. of £577 and spares £6O 16s for the B section were accepted, with a slight adjustment in the spares of the second tender. Complaints of the electric power rate charged the Seddon Memorial 'technical College were reviewed by the general manager, Mr. R. H. Bartley. He recommended that no special rate should be given to the college, and said that the position would be rectified when the board’s rates were reviewed in the near future.
