GIRLS’ HOCKEY

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association was held last evening. Miss Dawson presided. The following changes in teams were approved: Miss L. McCarthy, transferred from Mount Eden junior to Somerville senior team; Miss L. Morris, registered for Somerville senior team. It was decided to hold a jumble sale on August 13. KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION The first round of the junior grade knock-out championship was drawn as follows. These games will be commenced on the completion of the ordinary championship games, possibly on August 20: St. Cuthbert’s College v. Y.W.C.A. B; University v. Training College B; Training College A v. Y.W.C.A. A; Y.W.C.A. C v. Mount Eden; Papakura v. Wesley; Somerville a bye. Notice was given that the proposed insurance scheme which the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association had tried to establish had had to be abandoned through lack of support from associations.
