HUNTLY SCHOOLBOYS
A meeting of the Huntly and District Schoolboy's’ Association Football Committee was held on Thursday night. The principal business was the consideration of the impending visit of the Australian boy's on September 7. The secretary intimated that it would be necessary to billet the boy's for two nights. The team would probably arrive by the mid-day express on Tuesday and on arrival would be given a civic reception. It was decided to hold a social in the evening and on Wednesday morning arrangements would be made for a motor run, the team to be the guests of the town board at the pictures in the evening. Trial games between Glen Massey v. Pukemiro, Huntly B v. Rotowaro and Huntly A v. High School were arranged for Saturday next at Huntly, to select the rep. team to play in Auckland on August 30 for the Webster Shield. A team will also be picked to play the Australians at Huntly on September 7. Mr. Geo. Cox wrote intimating that a representative Hamilton boy's’ team could not be arranged until alter the Auckland competition games. Messrs. Bate, Bowron and Douglas were appointed selectors.
