ROUND THE CHURCHES
The Associated Churches of Christ are holding a Dominion Rally Day to-morrow, the aim being to have every member of the church at worship. Services are to be held at Ponsonby Road. Onehunga, Dominion Road, Richmond Road, Avondale, Devonport and the Kosie Theatre, Mount Albert. At St. Matthew’s Church, Wellesley Street, to-morrow, the Ven Archdeacon Simkin will conduct the morning service. This is to be followed by Sunday school at 3 p.m. and evensong A 7 o’clock, when Canon Grant Cowen will deliver the sermon. An anthem, “The Lord is Exalted,” will be sung by the choir. The Rev. A. S. Wilson is to preach at the Grange Road Baptist Churcdi to-morrow. Communion will 1 9 administered at the morning service and new members received. A solo by Mrs. J. W. Stewart is to be sung in the evening. The Y.M.C.A. is holding another of their great Sunday afternoon men's meetings at 4.15 p.m. Mr. I. Lilly is to be the speaker, while Mrs. Lilly will give a solo. The singing will be under the leadership of Mr. Alec Mill. A sermon on “The Suffering of tinInnocent” was broadcast recently by the Rev. A. Thornhill, M. A. Mr. Thornhill will deliver a further discourse on the subject at the Unitarian Church to-morrow night at 7 o'clock. An address on “The Spirit” will be given at the First Church of Christian Scientists to-morrow. Services are to jbe held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., while | the usual Sunday school classes are ! being conducted in the afternoon. | Airs. Harris-Roberts will deliver an address to-morrow evening on “Some Uses of Mediumship” at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Newton Chambers ! Spiritual messages will be given by I Miss Smith. The usual services are being held at. the Royal Oak Baptist Church to-mor-row. Mr. C. Boggis, a Baptist College student, will preach in the morning, while Mr. A. McKenzie, a student of the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, will conduct the evening service. At the Methodist Central Mission in Airedale Street, the missioner, the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour, will conduct a big evangelistic service at 7 p.m. His subj ject will be “The Last Journey.” Mr. j Lilycrap is to give a solo.
