AUCKLAND IS HEALTHY
DISEASE NEGLIGIBLE Throughout the Auckland health district, which extends from North Cape to Opotiki, only 21 cases of diphtheria were reported to the health authorities this week. Although this represents an increase of 12 over the previous week’s notifications, the cases are widely scattered and there is no indication of an epidemic. Typhoid is practically non-existent, and pneumonia, according to Dr. H. Chesson, medical officer of health, is causing no concern.
