MURDERERS HANGED
CROYDON CRIME NIGHT-WATCHMAN KILLED By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. A double execution took place at Wandsworth Prison to-day, when Frederick Fuller and James Murphy were hanged for the murder of James Stauton, of Croydon. Stauton was a nightwatchman whom they robbed of his wages and murdered.—Sun. On the night of May 14 James Stauion, employed as nightwatchman on an estate at Sanderstead, near Croydon wnere buildings were being erected, was lounci unconscious and with severe in juries to his head. Fie died a few daysin hospital, without having recovered consciousness. He was in the habit °l carrying considerable sums of money about with him. and had been paid hitwages the previous day. The men who were hanged were later arrested and tried and found guilty. There had been a fierce struggle in the hut in which the murderers attacked and overpowered btauton in which he received fatal injuries.
