DEATH OF BIRD-FANCIER
THE LATE MR. J. WALKER A well-known resident of Auckland, Air. John Walker, of New North Road, Alount Albert, died on Wednesday at the age of 65. • Born in Alelbourne, Air. Walker came to Auckland, and about 44 years ago made his home at Alount Albert. He was a well-known bird fancier and lover of domestic animals. He acted as judge at most bird fanciers’ exhibitions in the Dominion. Air. Walker was the first person to import Black Orpington fowls into ! Auckland, and possessed many cups j and championship medals won during j the last 20 or 30 years. He was pre- j sident of the Mount Albert Cricket | Club and vice-president of several sub- : urban football clubs. Air. Walker is survived by two sons and two daughters. ‘
