THRESHING RETURNS
POOR AUCKLAND AVERAGE (Special to THE SUN.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Returns of grain - threshings from January to July 19, as revealed by the Government statistician, show that 7,356,188 bushels of wheat and 4,330,657 bushels of oats were threshed out. Average yields an acre, in cases where particulars of areas were furnished, work out at 37.54 bushels for wheat, and 43.38 for oats. Canterbury threshed 6,034,189 bushels wheat (an average of 38.05 an acre) and 2,211,592 of oats (averaging 42.63 an acre); Otago, 1,042,163 bushels of wheat (an average of 36.70 an acre), and 1,038,364 of oats (averaging 44.97 an acre); Southland, 87,284 bushels of wheat (an average of 34.14 bushels an acre), and 917,171 of oats (45.23 an acre); North Auckland, 1,740 bushels of wheat (15.26 an acre); Auckland, 110 bushels of wheat (averaging 22.50 an acre), and the same of oats.
