BUTTER PROSPECTS (.Special to THE SUN.') WELLINGTON, Thursday. “Consignments from several factories have been sold on the water, and everything points to a further firming of thfe market.” said Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the Dairy Produce Board, to-day. “London merchants,” he continued, “are now making 3trong inquiries and the tone of the market is distinctly brighter. It has been a wonderful season both at>Home and on the Continent, and it was this that brought the price down.” Under date August 3 the London office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company cabled as follows: “New Zealand butter, 161 s to 3 645; market firm. New Zealand cheese, 91s to 935; market steady.” Norden and Co. are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London principals, dated August 4: New Zealand butter, salted 1665, unsalted 168 s; market strong. Cheese, white and coloured 935; market steady. Arrivals, Rotorua and Arawa. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated August 4: Butter: The market is firm; New Zealand salted 162 s to 166 s a cwt, Danish 166 s to 168 s, Australian salted 162 s to 1665, Australian unsalted 164 s to 168 s. Cheese: The market is firm; New Zealand, white 91s to 93s a cwt, coloured 91s to 935; Canadian, white 90s to 945, coloured 90s to 945; Canadian, c.i.f., 93s to 93s 6d.
