WAITEMATA POWER BOARD

VACANT SEAT FILLED MR. SKEATES APPOINTED Air. E. G. Skeates, Mayor of Birkenhead, was elected to the Waitemata Electric Power Board at a combined meeting of the Takapuna, Northcote, and Birkenhead Borough Councils held last evening. The seat was rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr. J. D. Morison, of Takapuna. Mr. H. L. Bowden, town clerk of Takapuna, as returning officer, presided. Three nominations were made: Mr. E. G. Skeates, Mayor of Birkenhead; Mr. Oscar Moller, who headed the list of unsuccessful candidates at the election last April; and Mr. James Wallace. According to legal practice the respective borough councils have each to confirm the appointment before MrSkeates can take his seat.
