House Will Be Busy Again
MEMBERS’ BILLS RELIGION IN SCHOOLS (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. Opportunity will be given in the House of Representatives to-day to discuss Mr. W. A. Veitch’s Agricultural Bank Bill, which is set down among several other private members’ Bills for second reading. Mr. Veitch will also sponsor the Dairy Export Control Amendment Bill, but Mr. H. E. Holland has his Legislature Amendment Bill sandwiched between Mr. Veitch’s two. Mr. M. J. Savage’s Family Allowances’ Bill and Mr. P. Fraser’s Right to Work Bill also are listed on the order paper. It is more than likely that the Government will give limited time to Mr- Holland’s Religious Exercises Bill, the appearance of which Labour has been so effectively blocking for the past few weeks. It is believed, however, that the Government will not afford more than specified periods to discussion on this measure. It is possible that the paper on Discharged Soldier Settlement might be presented to-day.
