A QUIET MARKET BANK OF N.Z. ACTIVE A quiet tone prevails on the ’Change in most stocks. Bank of New Zealand shares are steady and selling freely at 58s 6d. STOCK SALE WAIKATO PRICES New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., had an average yarding of beef of first Quality at Frankton on Tuesday, and it sold at last week’s rates. Few store cattle were penned. Sheep were in shorter supply, with no alteration in values. Quotations. —Prime fat heifers, £7 10s to £9 2s; lighter, £5- 19s to £6 Ss; fat cows, £6 2s 6d to £7 2s; plain fat cows, £4 14s to £5 11s: fleshy cows, £3 15s to £4 7s; heavy fat ewes, £1 10s; fat and forward hoggets, £1 Os 3d to £1 2s. A small yarding of fat pigs sold at late rates. The entry of store and weaner pigs was well above the average, and as a result prices were a little easier. Heavy baconers made £3 2s to £3 11s; heavy porkers, £2 8s to £2 16s; porkers, £2 to £2 ss; stores, £1 12s to £1 ISs; slips, £1 3s to £1 9s; weaners, 14s to £1 2s; sows close to profit, £5 to £6 10s.
