DEVONPORT FOOTBALLERS
CARDS AND DANCE In order to improve the finances of the Royal Naval Depot Football Club, a whist drive and dance were held last evening in the Navy League rooms, Devonport. A capable committee, headed by Captain P. C. Bradley. Lieutenant J. R. Veuville, P.O. Martin, Corporal Parsons, and Cook Woodruff had made very excellent arrangements. At the conclusion of play Mr. Veuville spoke in appreciation of the way the function had been supported, and intimated that its undoubted popularity would lead to the organising of further similar ones. Mrs. Veuville then kindly presented the whist prizes as follow: Women’s, Miss M. Hoare 1, Miss M. Taylor 2, Mrs. Tippett booby; men. Corporal Gilmour 1, A. B. Skeates 2, Bitters booby; judging weight of ham competition, Miss Middleton, correct weight-121b S^oz.
