SEEING BY WIRELESS

A REMARKABLE CLAIM • WORLD BEFORE YOUR EYES’’ By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright BERLIN, Tuesday. A remarkable apparatus has been perfected by a young Hungarian consulting engineer. Denes von Mehalv, who is employed by the German General Electrical Company and has 43 inventions to his credit. By means of this latest invention the engineer claims that everything broadcast by wireless can be rendered visible on a screen. He is negotiating on the London market for the money with which to finally launch it. The inventor says he expects that by next year a set will be on sale in England at the price of a two-valve receiver, which will enable people to see cinemas, plays, tennis matches, and boxing bouts, together with the words and sounds incidental to them. The invention is based on the same principle as wireless telephony, therefore the inventor anticipates it will ba possible to relay seeing-in programmes in the same way as sound is broadcast. —A. and N.Z.
