| Telegraphic communication the- United States and Alaska was sud-> denlv interrupted a few weeks ago, and, a cable ship which was sent to invest tigate discovered a 20-ton whale at-& tached to the twisted and broke strands of the cable. The whale broken the submarine telegraph lin»'!V 'at a depth of 600 fathoms. It is sa:<l j to be 22 years ago since a w hale interi fered with a submarine cable.
