All Black Player’s Amateur Status
W. ELVEY’S MOVEMENTS N.Z.R.F.U. ORDERS INQUIRY It is reported that the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby «»■ _ ■ —n Union has asked the Bush Districts Rugby Union to hold an inquiry into the circumstances under which W. Elvey, the Canterbury and New Zealand rep. player, went to the Bush dis|g trict, how he came fm to leave there and ■ settle in Wellington. w tivey Elvey has been notified of the enquiry by the Wellington Union, so that he may be present if he so desires. It is stated that the New Zealand Rugby Union has taken action, as a result of reports which have come to hand touching on Elvey’s amateur status.
