The president reported that the club’s last race meeting, on the club’s own course, was by far the most successful it had yet held, in spite of the fact that the main highway from Auckland was practically impassable at the time. It was gratifying to have received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. R. F. Bollard, a permit for a second day’s racing in the new season, and it was hoped that the club would be permitted to hold a two-day race meeting each season in future. A great deal had been achieved since the formation of the club in 1920, and a permanent two-days’ permit should mean that, with reasonable fortune, the club would not look back. During the past season further general improvements had been made to the course and grounds. In addition to the course proper ifnd present plough track it was hoped to provide a training track also shortly. A resident caretaker had bo'-n appointed, and the property was h' lag kept in first-class order. Shelter j tr- \s had boon donated and “working ibe us” formed for planting, fencing,
etc. The property looked very well and gave the appearance of making a very beautiful ground, as well as a first-class racecourse. The report and the balance sheet, which showed £3,341 excess of assets over liabilities, were adopted. The secretary, Mr. A. P. Daysh, reported that the profit on the club’s last race meeting was £1,501. It was decided that the club’s financial year close on June 30 for the future. As the number of nominations for office did not exceed the vacancies, the officers were re-elected unopposed.
