RUSSELL PERSONALITIES
Mr. L. D. Hodgson, who joined the Post and Telegraph Department at Russell five and a-half years ago, has received advice of his transfer to the relieving staff of that department at Auckland. Mr. Hodgson has made himself a great favourite with the public. Mr. and Mrs. F. Hamel, of Dunedin, who have been spending a long holiday in Russell, left by this morning’s train for Auckland. Mr. A. E. Bissett, of Russell, has gone to Wellington on business in connection with the Bay of Islands County Council. Miss Jackson, who has been spending a seven months’ holiday in Russell, is leaving on Thursday next for South Africa. On Saturday a number of her friends held a farewell afternoon tea, and the opportunity was taken of wishing Miss Jackson bon voyage. Mr. W. R. H. Steward, postmaster, Russell, is having his annual holiday.
