FIFTY-FIFTY AGAIN!
“The Weaker Vessel again,” thought readers of an English paper, seeing a heading: “Three hundred and sixtywomen faint during a Manchester procession.” They pictured the stalwart males, standing four square among the swooning ladies. But the “Manchester Guardian” gives the affair away. “Seven hundred and twenty people fainted during the procession,” it reports. So it was fifty-fifty again between the sexes after all.
