GIRL’S PRESENCE OF MIND

MAN BROUGHT TO JUSTICE Had it not been for a girl’s presence of mind, Alfred Millington Hill, aged 41, would probably not have been in the dock at the Police Court to-day. HILL pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent exposure. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that the offence was committed in Remuera Road in the presence of some girls. One, who kept her head, kept the man in sight, until she met a policeman. Mr. Dickson, who appeared for accused, said he had taken liquor, and it was one of those unfortunate cases where liquor got the best of the man. The Magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, remanded Hill to appear for sentence to-morrow. Mr. Dickson: Will you let him out on bail? The Magistrate: No, I will not.
