| A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE Press Association. WHANG ARE I, Today. Two youths, each aged 17, Clarence Keith Haynes and Edgar William ; Vaile, were jointly charged at the Police Court before justices this morning with converting a motor-car, the property of Mr. H. W. Crawford, man-aging-director of the “Northern Advocate,” to their own use last Thursday night. The car crashed near Hikurangi, necessitating repairs, which have been : assessed at £l5O. The occupants, one of whom was j flung through the windscreen, miraculously escaped with minor injuries, j ■ The accused, who were arrested yesterday, were remanded until Monday, £SO bail being allowed, with one surety of £IOO each.
