A BETTER SEASON
PORT ALBERT DAIRY CO. Increased output An increase of approximately 25 per cent, on the season's output as compared with the previous season, is recorded in the annual report of the Port Albert Co-operative Dairy Company. At the annual meeting of the company held on Saturday, the chairman, Mr. W. D. Farr, presided over an attendance of about 70 shareholders. Portion of the year’s output of 196 tons is yet unsold, and thus it is diifieult to arrive at a correct estimate of the final payment. Directors anticipate an average payment of Is 3id. for the season. The following figures show the extent of the company’s activities for the year, the figures for the previous season being given in parentheses:—Number of suppliers, 99 (99): butter-fat received, 364.2661 b. (277,5831 b.); butter made, 196 tons (150 tons); average cream test, 40.8 per cent (42.23 per cent.); cream carting per lb. of butterfat, 0.42 d (0.512 d); average points at grading store, 93.15 per cent. (93.15 per cent.). The retiring directors, Messrs. H. Legge, W. Grice and G. Bremmer. were re-elected. Mr. Legge was afterwards elected chairman.
