A SYRIAN PRIEST VISITS AUCKLAND
ith little knowledge of English, but a wonderful enthusiasm for Auckland from the harbour, the Rev. Peter Sam arrived by the Niagara from Sydney yesterday.
He is a Roman Catholic priest from Syria and his card bears the words “Marounite Missionary.” He said that he had been on a visit to Australia
search of Syrian missionaries to go back with him. The Rev. Sam said that he came from Mount Lebanon and that he had been educated there. He will spend a holiday of some wrecks in New Zealand.
