TO JOIN THE CITY
AVONDALE PROPOSAL CAMPAIGN BEGINS The campaign between the rival parties interested in the proposals for the amalgamation of Avondale borough with Auckland City can be said 10 have begun. A representative meeting of supporters of the movement, was held in Collin’s'Building - , Avondale, last evening. The ex-Mayor, Mr. J. Tait, presided. Arrangements for the introduction of speakers from the city were made, the choice falling on Messrs. J. C. Allum, O. Mcßrine, and Phelan. Meetings at which the ratepayers will be addressed by various speakers will be held at Avondale and Blockhouse Bay.
