A RESPECTED TEACHER

FAREWELL AT BIRKDALE Having accepted the headmastership of the Ngate-. District High School, Mr. William Chappell, headmaster of Birkdale School, was given a farewell on Friday by the children, parents and committee of the school. The chairman of the committee, Mr. T. M. Shepherd, spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr. Chappell’s work for the school, and of the harmony that always reigned during his charge. A silver fish service and a wallet were then presented on behalf of the pupils. Later a silver-mounted umbrella was presented to Mr. • Chappell by the School Committee.
